Since a young age, I have struggled with my anxiety. Growing up, my outward appearance did not match the fear and distress I felt on the inside. I struggled until I started talking to others about my thoughts and feelings. It helped me to work through what was going on with me. I sought out a therapist and I opened up to my friends and family. When I was given the opportunity to write about my experience for Brat.com, I jumped at the chance. I wanted others to read my honest and open experience with anxiety so they would know they are not alone.
This article means a lot to me because the very overwhelming response I received from my wonderful friends and supporters. People told me this made them feel a little less alone, and hearing things like that remind me of why I should be so grateful for my platform. Having the ability to sympathize with others and continue to spread awareness about mental health is so important to me, and I’m very thankful to Brat for letting me publish this article!
