Book
Alongside her performing arts career, Lilia has just finished writing her first novel. The book titled, Influence, is co-written with Sara Shephard (the author of the NYT #1 Bestseller Pretty Little Liars). Lilia announced her book in an Instagram post in February 2019 by posting a small snippet of her draft that gave small hints about the premise of the book.
The book is a suspenseful thriller set in the world of Social Media Influencers, something Lilia is very familiar with. As a social media influencer herself, Lilia is pulling from her own experience to write a fictional cliffhanger that will keep readers guessing with every turn of the page. The book will be published by Random House in Early 2020.
Acting
Lilia always knew that she wanted to be an actress. She has loved acting since a very young age. She has had the opportunity to appear on numerous shows on the Brat Network but her current role as Autumn on the widely popular series, Dirt, has been one of her most well recognized roles to date. Playing Autumn has been a dream for Lilia. Autumn is an intelligent, independent and artistic girl who’s not afraid to speak her mind and Lilia loves being able to play such a strong, multi-faceted character.
Lilia also loves working on short films having recently finished “Cidiots” written and directed by Chicken Girl’s creator Janey Feingold, as well as “5.2 Miles Between Whittier and Amalfi” written and directed by Roxy Sorkin.
Producing
Lilia’s also excited to be adding Executive Producer to her resume. She is Executive Producing Crown Lake, Brat’s newest most buzzed about show. The latest addition to Brat’s lineup is set in a 90’s boarding school and is written by Sara Shephard, who Lilia connected with Brat when discussing the idea of a “Gossip Girl” inspired show. The series stars Francesca Capaldi, Kyla Drew, Emily Skinner and look for Lilia in an unexpected way throughout the season
The show is premiering June 20thand will have new episodes every Thursday. Crown Lake follows Nellie Chambers (Francesca Capaldi) as she navigates a world of wealth at a prestigious boarding school following the death of her mother. The boarding school does not provide quite the fresh start that she would have hoped for and viewers can watch as reality crashes down around her. The fresh new series will be Lilia’s first time stepping into the role of executive producer.
Community Involvement
One of the achievements Lilia is most proud of is co- founding Positively Social in 2018, a 501-c-3 charity. The mission of the nonprofit is to help spread kindness and to help stop online bullying. Lilia founded the organization with close friends, Maddie Ziegler and Kenzie Ziegler as well as several other friends who had some point had their own personal experiences with the pitfalls of social media.
The unique experiences of these individuals helped to shape the mission of the nonprofit. The organization provides an online resource for teens and their parents to help guide them on best social media practices. They also speak to local middle schools and youth organizations about how teens can present themselves positively on social media platforms and how to use those platforms to enact a positive change in the world.
